CEDIC Announces 2008 New Venture Championship
CEDIC invites student business plan teams from universities in its 10-state Mid-America region (AR, CO, IA, KS, LA, MO, NE, NM, OK and TX) to compete in its 3rd Annual New Venture Championship. The Championship will motivate and celebrate entrepreneurship and the commercialization of technologies developed at universities in the region. The Championship will be held in conjunction with the World’s Best Technologies Showcase in Arlington TX, March 25-27, 2008. This year’s New Venture Championship program will feature:
Showcase and Elevator Pitch Competition:
The NVC Showcase will follow the NCIIA Invention to Venture Workshop on March 25th and include each team giving a one-minute pitch. The winner will take home a $1,000 award.
Opening Round:
All teams will present during the morning of March 26th in divisions of four teams each. The winner of each division will advance.
Finals:
The finalists will compete before a different panel of judges on March 27th and the winner will be announced at the WBT Showcase luncheon.
Prizes:
The winner will receive a cash award of $10,000, legal services valued at $10,000, consulting advice from a panel of experts valued at $10,000, and an invitation to the world renowned Global MOOT CORP Competition at The University of Texas at Austin in May. The first and second runners-up will receive $3,000 and $2,000 awards respectively.
